You have probably seen a MacBook, but have you ever heard of its prototype -- the PowerBook 1400? How do the two compare?

The appearance of the PowerBook has a high similarity with the current MacBook, but the PowerBook weighed around 7lbs, so was much heavier and not as convenient to carry around 1 . Also, the price of the PowerBook is similar with the current price, around $2500. But comparing it with other machines on the market when it came out in October 1996, the PowerBook was a very expensive product 2 .
